The Fields of Athenry was written in 1979, set during the Great Irish Famine of the 1840s. At Celtic Park it is more than a song, it connects the Bhoys and their support to the Irish heritage at the heart of this club since 1888. A slow ballad that fills any stadium. Full Celtic songs lyrics here.
